Max Rodenbeck : ウィキペディア英語版 | Max Rodenbeck Max Rodenbeck is an American journalist and author, based in Cairo.〔(Profile in the ''Economist'' magazine's website )〕 He grew up in Cairo, having moved there when his father John Rodenbeck took up an academic position at the American University in Cairo in the 1960s.〔(''Al-Ahram Weekly'' profile of John Rodenbeck )〕 He has been writing for the ''Economist'' magazine on Middle Eastern affairs for more than 20 years, and has been the magazine's Chief Middle East Correspondent since 2000. He is also a contributor to publications such as the ''New York Review of Books'', ''New York Times'' and ''Foreign Policy'' magazine. Rodenbeck is also known for his book ''Cairo: The City Victorious''. This is regarded as one of the best single-volume treatments of the city available, and has been translated into several languages. Edward Mortimer wrote of the book in a ''New York Times'' book review: "His travels about the city, which has been his home on and off since the age of 2, certainly do much more than scratch the surface.
